Garage Usefulness

Your garage should be a happy place... a sanctuary safe, organised and useful!

Step One: Set Goals and Plan

   - Assess the Space: Look at the garage and identify what needs to be stored,

      de-cluttered, or reorganised.

   - Define Zones: Establish different zones (e.g., sports equipment, tools, seasonal                items, gardening supplies).

   - Gather Supplies: You may need shelving, bins, hooks, pegboards, and labels.

Step Two: De-clutter

   - Remove: Take everything out so you can itemise and prioritise

   - Sort: Categorise items into four groups:

   - Create Piles: Keep - Donate - Sell - Toss

Step Three: Clean the Garage

   - Sweep and Dust: Clean the floor, walls, and any surfaces.

   - Inspect for Repairs: Check for cracks, leaks, or other damage that needs fixing.

   - Deep Clean: Clean any oil stains, cobwebs, or accumulated dirt.

Step Four: Install Storage Solutions

   - Shelving: Use wall-mounted shelves for easy access to frequently used items.

   - Hooks and Pegboards: Hang tools, bikes, and other gear to free up floor space.

   - Storage Bins: Use clear, labelled bins for small items or seasonal gear.

   - Overhead Storage: Install ceiling-mounted racks for large or seldom-used items.

Step Five: Organise by Zones

   - Create Zones: Place Items in their respective zones:

   - Return Items: Replace keep items to the garage by category (e.g., gardening tools in one area, sports gear in another).

   - Label: Label bins, shelves, or drawers to make it easy to locate items.

Step Six: Maintain Organisation

   - Routine Check-ups: Schedule periodic cleanups to maintain order.

   - Put Items Back After Use: Ensure everything goes back to its designated place to prevent future clutter.

By following these steps, you can create a functional and organised garage space. Would you like to add any specific tips or features to this process based on your service?
